Slim Thug brought “Hollywood To Houston” Sunday night for a great cause. The Boss Life Foundation celebrated its fifth annual Boss Life Ball. The star-studded event honored ½ of UGK Bun-B, 979. The Box morning show host Madd Hatta, ABC’s Shark Tank Daymond John and Houston Rockets owner, Tilman Fertitta. The Boss Life Foundation (BLF) is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that was founded in 2015 to shine the spot light on research and educating, specifically in low-income communities. The Boss Foundation main focus is the youth between the ages of 8 – 24 because statistics have shown that this age group faces some of the most difficult times in making its past obstacles that plague our young men. The BLF is also dedicated to education programs, training and career path mentoring to help the youth. Slim Thug says with him “being from the hood and being from Aceres Homes, so it only makes sense. We were able to make it out and we wanted to reach back and make sure we do something” is what inspires him to give back to the community.

Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee expressed her happiness towards The Boss Life Foundation prior to awarding the foundation with a proclamation. “Boss Life is the kind of foundation that brings all of you, the prestigious boxing world, the faith community, business, and many of us together.”

At the end of the night, Daymond John made sure everyone was still focused on the issue at hand and did not forget to donate to The Boss Life Foundation scholarship fund, “It doesn’t matter how much you give no one knows but you. But please text right now to donate because the recipient could be your child or a family member. Wouldn’t it be great if your child was the next Daymond John or the next Slim Thug? Well with education and you all’s help that can happen.” Supporters can still donate by texting their donations to 832-514-6473!
