Mary J Blige Honored With Star On Hollywood Walk Of Fame

Mary J Blige was honored today with a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame for her dedication and influence in the music industry. Bad Boys Records founder and long time friend, Sean “P.Diddy” Combs, hosted the ceremony. In addition to receiving her star, the 9 time Grammy Award winner also celebrated her 47th birthday. Known as the “Queen Of Soul” Mary J Blige is a singer, songwriter, and actress born in The Bronx, New York. She started her career as a back ground on Uptown Records in 1989, and released her first album, “What’s the 411?” in 1992. Since then Blige has released 13 studio aBillboard has ranked Blige as the most successful female R&B/Hip-Hop artist of the past 25 years and in 2017, Billboard magazine also lists her song "Be Without You from "The Breakthrough" album as the most successful R&B/Hip-Hop song of all time. It spent 15 weeks at number one on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop charts.Not only can Blige SANG down, she can act too. In 2009 Blige starred in Tyler Perry’s“I Can Do Bad All By Myself”alongside Taraji P. Henson. . In 2017, Blige starred in “Mudbound” directed by Dee Rees for which she received a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress, Motion Picture and Golden Globe Award for Best Original song nominations. When I think about all of the trails and tribulations Mary has faced over the years such as drug addition and being in toxic relationships the one thing I admire most about her is her grit and courage to keep going. This star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame is well deserved. Congrats Mary
